Origo stoves with oven

Post by David Brownlee »

We love the Origo two-burner stove that we have on the present WINDRUSH and had on her predecessor (a CD25). We're now looking at CD30's and 31's, and we'd be glad to hear anything, pro or con, about the two-burner-plus-oven Origo that looks like it would fit where the CD30s and 31's have a gimballed pressure alcohol stove as original equipment.

My 31 did not have an alcohol stove as original equipment. It had a CNG stove. I switched it to propane by screwing out the old burners and screwing in the propane burners and then changing tanks.

David Brownlee wrote: We pulled out the existing propane stove/oven on Wind Chime when we bought her (CD 33) and installed the Origo 2-burner with the oven. We cruised for approx. a year going from New York state to Florida and never had a problem. We even cooked a 7-lb turkey for Christmas at a marina in Key West!!! Yes, it takes longer and you do lose efficiency, but what you gain in safety and security more than makes up the difference. Even an !!@/??$#!& relative can operate these things safely...
