I recently purchased a 1982 CD27 #243 with a rather new-looking Yanmar 2GM, which I and the surveyor assumed to be the original engine. However, all the other CD27s I could find have either 1GMs or 2-cyl Westerbekes. After reading the factory literature and reading posts on this site about so-so performance with the 1GM, I'm starting to wonder whether this might be a re-power. I'd like to hear from owners of any other CD27s equipped with 2GMs, or anybody knowledable about CD27 engine options.
Also, this boat appears to have spent much of it's life (until about 1995) in San Diego then SF. It's now named "Bontina" but was previously named "Tahoe" (and maybe something else, who knows.) so if you ever ran across it I'd lke to hear any anecdotal info you have.
TIA

My CD27, hull #175 has a YANMAR YSM8. It has never
failed me, but there have been times when I would have
liked more power. If I ever re-power, I will go
with a two cyl. engine.
