Transom Teak Curl (Ty)
The corners of the teak strip mounted on the stern of my Typhoon are curling upward. In case there's a difference, it's a 1970. It's all in tact, just coming up from the deck. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
Marino

Re: Transom Teak Curl (Ty)
Your right,
The taft board (I think that's the proper name ) is a bit thin. I replaced two of mine with a 3/4" patterned after the oringinals. The toughest part is that great scarf joint in the middle.

Taft board - eh? Thanks for the correct term. Hopefully the caulk will work and it won't need to be replaced. I was hoping to leave the teak alone.
Re: Transom Teak Curl (Ty)
I believe the correct term and spelling is "taffrail," even though it's a flat board.

Re: Transom Teak Curl (Ty)
I'm familiar with taffrail; having read all those O'brien, Cooper and Melville novels. I even got to sit on one when the Tallships came in!
