My '78 Cape Dory 28's Volvo MD7A seems to be rusting from within. The raw water cooling lines are slowly clogging and the heat exchanger is leaking from rust that originates from inside. According to two mechanics, there's not much to do but wait till it dies. That seems a bit unimaginative. Does anyone have a reasonable solution? If repowering is the only option, what are the choices of engines?
