Believe it or not. The switch for the nav. lights and anchor lights is a single switch with 3 positions - anchor, off and nav. When checking my anchor light and nav. lights this is what I found after many years of everything working just fine. When the switch was in the nav. lights position my anchor light lit up(atop of mast - mast for radar). When the switch was moved to the anchor light position only the stern white nav. light went on. I then changed the bulb on the forward red/green nav. light and believe it or not - the nav. lights now work with the switch in the nav. light position and the anchor light does NOT work in anchor light position or in the nav. light position. Any ideas???

I think I solved the problem. The anchor light has been wired to serve as the white light required for nav. lights as well as an anchor light. The bulb pick a very strange time to blow!!!
