Jack Stays
Has anyone tried to rig or explored the possibility of rigging a jack stay on a CD 30 or MKII 30
Re: I give up, what is a Jack Stay?
Paul,
Letting my ignorance show, I don't know what this is or what it does. Can you enlighten us?

David,
They are used to rig a jib or storm jib. Usually a stay is addeed sort of making it a cutter rig altough there is no need for the addition of a boom. This eliminates the need to change sails when the wind picks up and the need arises. They are really helpful when used with a roller furling genoea.

Re: Jack Stays
A jack stay is a stay that fits between the existing hard stay of your boat and the mast. It can be used to rigg another jib, or just to stablize the mast in a strong sea way. Additionally you can use it as a cutter sail option if you wish.Paul wrote: David,
