Paint for Cape Dory 14 Cockpit

Post by jponhudson »

I want to re-paint the inside on my Cape Dory 14. I like the texture of the original paint (rough to the touch and non-skid) and would like to replicate this feel. What paint do you recommend and/or you have used on similar projects. Attached the picture of the area in most need for improvement and a close-up of the texture.

i suspect the roughness is just the fiberglass fabric-no special anti-skid was applied, I don't think. On my Dyer 10, I used Rustoleum
Marine paint with a primer applied first. Interlux BilgeKote or Interlux Brightside would probably work well too. Interlux sells non-skid additive for
paint called Intergrip. I used an old can of Woolsey pumice that is more than 50 years old but still works great. - Jean
