Prices are 1/3 of California so I let them paint the sides. They ground out and filled every little blemish then primed and sanded 4 coats with this high build primer. I’m so glad. I didn’t try this myself. I would have just lightly sanded and started painting. It looks so nice. They are recommending a color that can be easily identified for later touch ups. I think it will be oyster white. Also they are trying out Awl Grips newest products on my boat. They promised a discount. I think they are not charging for the paint and primer. I only had to agree to send them photos in three years but I think I will be back then

They put this blue stuff on this morning. It makes the flaws stand out so they know where to sand. I think the finishing primer next

Great classic color choice, you made Captain Nat happy.

Exactly. I also heard it something like "You can paint your boat any color you want as long as it's white." LOL

Launching now. I can’t believe the invoice was only $6500. Includes topsides. Bottom paint. Raise water line two inches install thru hull and coat prop. And lettering. They do excellent work. Evan the water line. They sanded, applied fairing compound then barrier coat and primer and three coats of anti fouling paint. I love it I attached a before pic also. They also repaired the rudder. The mechanic who installed the engine set the prop to far out at first. his diver put epoxy on it and told me it was only scratched( Not) It was a lot worse than the let me believe

Thanks I spent too much time here. Need to head out towards Hawaii 1 st week of April. So I will cruise around the pacific side of Baja till then. Once I leave Mexico I won’t be able to post till I get to WiFi. Probably King Cove Alaska. Maybe Dutch Harbor.
, but that’s probably too far out of the way. I send messages via inreach mini. Maybe I can get someone to post my position once in a while in the Cruisers Corner
