Sailing South Late September - Routes

Post by Socalbred »

Cape Dory 28' named Adventure.

Leaving Duck Creek Marina Thursday, September 28th out of New Bern North Carolina.
Planned 4 days to Jacksonville Florida.
Spend the night in Jacksonville seeing old friends there in downtown.
Then taking the ICW to Daytona Beach where I have a slip.

1 crew + a small poodle.
Going out of Beaufort Inlet
Coming in through Ft George Inlet

Pending weather - the passage should be routine. Obviously I am going to try and avoid the Gulf Stream.
No Windvane, but autopilot (AutoHelm 3000)
Bringing plenty of water, food, fuel and generator. (No solar)

It's my maiden voyage - so if anyone has anything to say - I'm all ears.
