Anchor storage question

Post by ghockaday »

I am going to be getting a FX16 for our CD30. Does anyone use the rail hanger for this type of anchor vs bow roller. Could you post a picture if you do. I would like to get it off of the roller. Dennis

I must have looked at 50 Cape Dory pictures today and none of them had the anchor on the rail.

CD27 owner here, with a similar style anchor to the Fortrss(a danforth). I have it on the bracket on the bow. No issues, but understand different boats, etc. Can get a photo this weekend.

Also use a bracket on the bow for my Danforth on my CD 27.

Thank you, I thought it would clean up the sprit and not have the two long "horns" out that will hang on a pole when backing out.

Not a good spot for an anchor if you fly any sort of down wind sails. Have you considered chocks on the deck?

That's a good though, I can see where the spinnaker may get injured the pointy point of the anchor. I had not considered that. Maybe best if I leave it on the rollers. We have a smaller danforth (approbate size) on there now,

She came with a huge, like 35 pound danforth style anchor we took off. Anyone local I'll make a fantastic deal on it. Dennis
