I have not read the story yet. But, I fall into the camp of depending on the circumstances there can be good reasons for staying with your boat. I know lots of people that have done it successfully. Again, it depends....

I read it. Not much there to disagree with.... “It’s dangerous to ride out hurricanes and typhoons. Do not underestimate them. Most people should not do it. You can’t do anything at the height of the storm to help your boat. Sometimes it is a reasonable choice. Choose wisely. Make sure it’s worth it. Plan accordingly.”
