This is a repeat of my post of last spring. I'm selling rudder shaft seals. There are 9 left.
"The seal for the rudder shaft is a bearing common to truck air seats and other low speed uses. The bearing is made by Thompson-Nyliner (distributed in the NY area by a place in L.I. ( I forget where). T-N can give you the name. It is a 3/4" diam. plastic bearing with flange.
When I bought mine 3 years ago I had to buy a sample pack of 25 for around $54 plus shipping and handling - I sold a few at Beaton's yard in Mantoloking, NJ and kept most of them (if I live to be 300 I'll get use of all of them). The unfortunate part is that most of the problem is the scale and corosion on the rudder shaft itself, which is hard to access. I used # 320 sandpaper to clean the shaft one spring, and next spring had to do it all over again (I do have plenty of bearings). If you want a couple let me know, and figure out how you would want to get them (I suggest you send me a small pre-paid priorty mail box. The box is about 4" x 6" x 1") How about $4 a bearing?"
