Our Own John Stone Is A Published Author in BoatUS Magazine
In the October/November 2019 issue of BoatUS Magazine there is an excellent article (with photos ) by John Stone discussing in detail his successful efforts to protect S/V Far Reach from Hurricane Florence last year. Well done John

Mike:
I got my "snail mail" copy yesterday. Maybe the BoatUS computer system is "on strike".
I know you are a "techie" and you like all the new fangled stuff but sometimes us "oldie goldies" get the better of you techies with old-fashioned products and services. I keep looking for a black rotary dial phone.
It's an excellent article that John wrote. I am sure you will get it on your computer in a week or so.

Re: Our Own John Stone Is A Published Author in BoatUS Magaz
Thanks everyone. It was fun writing the article. I don’t have much experience writing for publication but the BoatUS magazine staff was very professional and easy to work with. The editor for the Hurricane Series, Charles Forte, was very supportive. He gave me a lot of latitude to write what and how I wanted. Just scanning the article, as best as I can tell, the only obvious post submission edits were in the blue box on the second page. They added the last part about safety. “Your life is more important than your boat. No unnecessary risks.” Uh, OK. And they said they had to take out the part about Gayle and me crawling under the 32’ sloop sitting crosswise on top of the dock blocking access to the Far Reach. Editor: “We are an insurance company. We can’t let our readers think that’s OK.” Me: “OK.” LOL.
