The site we have been posting on since the winter of 2016 is farreachvoyages.wordpress.com. It was free...did not cost us anything. But, it was slammed with advertisement and had minimal capability. But, it was mobile friendly and easy to post on from a phone or tablet. I liked it because it was free.
. It started as an experiment. While off sailing I was posting on facebook. But, I have since dropped facebook. So, I started to rely on the free wordpress site.After a lot of discussion we upgraded it this morning. So, the distracting advertisement should now be gone.
We also got a new domain name. If you subscribe to the wordpress site you should be redirected. If you just visit without subscribing then I think you will be redirected but I am not positive. So, if you enjoy the site you might want to check.
The new site name is http://www.farreachvoyages.net So, now the only name difference between the two sites we will maintain is one is .com and the other .net
I was told it might take a few days for the new domain name to lock-in.
We plan to make some layout changes with the upgrade which will make it easier to find what you like--namely put the category tabs at the left top vice buried at the bottom.
If you have additional ideas I'd be interested in hearing them.
