Apologies if this should be located someplace else.
Wife and I are very likely moving to Chattanooga, TN in the late fall. I see the sailing clubs on lake chickamauga, so I know that in theory that is sailable. Checking the archives, there are a few discussions that wind there can be either very light or ripping off the hills. Any locals with experience? Additionally, if not here, is there any place else within a, oh, 60-75 minute drive of Chattanooga that would be a decent place to sail and keep the boat? Fully understand nothing is going to replace the quality and variety of sailing here on the Chesapeake, but I really, really don't want to mothball or sell the boat. I finally figured out how to sail her reasonably well!

Re: Chattanooga sailing
I'm over here in north GA on Lake Chatuge. you are right with your assumption that the wind is usually light to none. never a sea breeze
but with the north south shape of Chickamauga it looks to a good place to sail when a front comes thru with west winds .. and that can definitely be in the summer. by late fall it will be pretty chilly but being from the Chesapeake you should be OK with that. maybe you can install a small propane heater in your boat.
