A client of mine, (who just turned 90!), bought this Honda 5hp L/S outboard new from a dealer only to discover that he couldn’t pull it manually, so then bought an electric-start model. This outboard has never seen water (except the dealers test tank), and has never even had fuel in the tank! It has a 5-year transferable warranty from Honda.
IMHO it’s too heavy for a Typhoon, unless you REALLY need that much power (beware of bending your bronze outboard mount!), but it’s perfect for a Ty Sr. or CD22. At $1,100 it’s more than 1/3d less than a new model ($1,800.+), for a savings of over $700. For full price, I’ll even deliver it to you anywhere between SC and ME later this month (June 2019). Call or text me to see photos and ask any questions. This outboard does NOT have a charging system, but that can be added, and is manual start only.
