4 conductor signal wire

Post by Steve Laume »

I have a wind instrument and a GPS antennae to hook up. They both require 4 conductor, 20 gauge, round, signal, wire. I have some of this on Raven already and it has red, green, brown and yellow conductors with a bare shielding wire. I have been checking all sorts of sources and cannot find this stuff. There is 8 conductor available and much heavier mast wire but I don't need or want a wire that big. Does anyone know where to find this stuff? I need about 40', Steve.

I was at Defender yesterday and they did have the 8 conductor wire you referenced but not 4. Yikes! Mouser wants 3 or 4 hundred dollars for something that would work. The Defender 8 conductor is 90 cents a foot. So like ten times as much for half the number of wires. Someone has to have this stuff, at an affordable price, Steve.

Yea, I looked at the Mouser link too... they *really* like their wire!

Might this work? It's 22 gauge, solid four conductor wire (100 ft), same as the the wire on my wind instrument. I tried
unsuccessfully to create a link. But if you copy and paste into the address bar, I think it will work. - Jean

Sorry about the expensive lead. Try Digi-Key: looks like they have 50ft ($44) in addition to 1000 foot spool at $hundreds:
