So, my 27 was splashed today, and the marina office called to say "There's a little bit of a leak at the shaft. Nothing to make us pull the boat, but, y'know, FYI." Being still relatively new to boat ownership, and having spent virtually no time behind the engine, I'm curious what the group says the plan of attack should be here.
Engine is a YSM8, and I think it's a PSS dripless shaft seal. Something just needs a little tightening?
Leaking prop shaft

Re: Leaking prop shaft
If it is a drip-less seal, it needs to be "burped" after splashing.
If it's a standard packing gland, it *may* need to be snugged... and it may stop once it get saturated.
When I first got KAYLA, she a had a drip-less seal but since it was older than the recommended replacement time for the rubber boot, I switched to a standard packing gland.
