boat stand/trailer issue

My TySenior came with a homemade trailer. One of the support "pads" rotted out this year, so that the pad detached from the threaded rod that supports it. I figured no problem, I'll just buy one of those pad/rod assemblies at my local marine store, since it's basically just the top component of a boat stand. But when I got home, I discovered that the new rod (Brownell brand) has a diameter of 1-7/16, while the old one is 1-5/16 (I foolishly assumed boat stands use a standard diameter). Needless to say it doesn't fit in the sleeve mounted on the trailer.

I tried googling for a 1-5/16" size but couldn't find anything. Anybody seen this? Or am I looking at reaming out the sleeve? That sounds like a nightmare--but maybe not.

Any and all advice appreciated. Gotta have this ready soon, 'cause after Columbus Day it's time to haul!

It might be easier to replace the pipe. Reaming it out would weaken it and trying to do that in place would be a nightmare. I suspect the Brownell pipe is standard size even if the thread is not. 1-1/2" Schedule 80 pipe has an outside diameter of 1.9" and an inside diameter of 1.5".

If the existing pipe, wing nut and old threaded rod are good, the easiest option may be to fit your new head to the old rod.
