Need a mainsail for CD 27

Post by steve poulin »

The original 36 year old Ulman gave up the ghost in a heavy gust coming around Patience Island in north Narragansett Bay yesterday. RIP (just below the third batten). Anyone have one for sale or know of a local shop (MA/CT/RI) that might?

Many thanks.

On another note, any recommendations for online sail brokers? That boom looks pretty sad glaring empty in the sun.

I have nothing but great praise for Precision Sails!
Their customer service and product quality tops all I have ever dealt with before.

Jasper & Bailey in Newport RI made the sails for our 36 about 10 years ago, no complaints!

Two seasons ago I replaced our CD 27 main with a new one from Doyle Sails on Long Island. I could not be happier with their service. The old sail has lost some of its shape, but is still serviceable. You are welcome to it if you pay for the shipping.

To jneely (Jim?),

I have been attempting to contact you via the personal message and email function on the CD board but have apparently been unsuccessful. This is a very generous offer and I am interested. Could you reply to me via email or personal message and see if it works that way?

Thanks again.
