dinghy for CD25

Post by jim Stull »

We did a lot of investigation and searching for a suitable dinghy for our Cd25. We would have prefered a hard dinghy and even purchased plans for a 2 piece one. We eventially decided that the topside space was too limited even for this option. At the 98 Annapolis Show we spoted the Bombard 2AX with the inflatable floor and ordered it from Defender. This winter we added the new 2 hp Honda with the centrifugal clutch. We are well satisified with this set-up. The boat weighs only 35# and fits nicely in the lazzrette. Inflation is quick and easy with the supplied foot pump. We lay it accross the cockpit coamings to inflate. The 2hp Honda engine rides OK on the stern pulpit just like the "big boats". The little Honda can make this boat speed along easily, although, depending on the "chop", the ride will sometimes get quite wet.
