Rewiring Mast

Post by s2sailorlis »

Doing a full blown electrical update on the mast of my CD22...

New steaming/deck light, new VHF antenna, all new wiring. I was surprised to discover that there is a wiring tube in the mast, although quite small in diameter, the vhf and anchor light fit. My new wiring is slightly larger so it won't fit thru...question what have you guys used successfully in keeping the wires in order if they're not in a wiring tube? Internet lore seems to favor cable ties every few feet. I heard of pool floaters too. Any other thoughts?

you could run a plastic conduit. at all costs do what you can to eliminate wire slap inside the mast. The previous owner of my boat did not do this and it drives me insane.
