CD25 outboard to inboard??

I just ran in to someone who bought a cd25 in the early 70s. He disliked the outboard in the lazerette so much he had someone in Tiverton RI. Put in a 2 stroke inboard. He said it improved the maneuverability dramatically. Has anybody here done that???
