Voyage of Minimus

Post by psjanker »

Folks may want to check out this blog. A couple who took a Cape Dory 25 and outfitted her for a round the world trip on a very tight budget....no outboard only a set of oars! The talk of the anchorage where they just arrived from San Diego to French Polynesia in the Marguesa Islands.

Now the rest of us have no excuse!

I've been following their voyage with great interest.

They update frequently. The guy, David, has become quite sick and is in the hospital in Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas.

Pete,

Pearl, his partner, has been updating regularly. The most recent was from last night, our time I think.

Most recent update is that it appears to be a blood infection but he is doing better. From personal experience a blood infection is serious stuff.

Here's hoping the best for them. Their accomplishment sailing a CD 25' is really amazing and they are both in their 60's. Makes a guy in his 70's have hope for something a little less ambitious!!!!!
