Can anyone offer recent experiences comparing these two tiller pilots? Looking through the archives there seems to be more about the ST2000, but a couple of comments indicating the TP22 is better. The ST2000 spec says 169 lb thrust vs 154 for TP 22, and less current draw for ST2000, 40 ma vs 60 ma. Is either one quieter than the other? Thanks for any help on this.

I have no experience with the TP22, but the ST2000 is pretty quiet as it steers in the ordinary course.

Re: Simrad TP22 vs Raymarine ST2000
Hello,
I have used them both. They were on different boats. They both steered adequately. Each struggles when under sail and not well balanced or going downwind in waves. So, based on my experience there was not a strong preference for one over the other.
