Access Cover and Interior Wood CD25
Is there a good match with the interior wood in my old CD25 (1974). I am going to have to cut a bigger hole to get to the shroud backing plates. Is there a less expensive wood or is it all teak?...if teak, does anyone have a source (cheap)?
thx

If you're in a boat yard, you may find a boat or two has been abandoned, and the yard owner is willing to give you or sell you what you need from one of them. Never hurts to ask. I've been lucky this way.

You may want to edit your profile so people know where you are located. It's helpful information. I have some decent teak scraps in my shop, which is located in New Hampshire.
It's been a long time since I sold my CD25, but I don't remember there being a lot of teak in the CD25 interior. I mostly remember some really ugly wood-grain pattern laminate.

John, a possible source of teak in our area is St. Angelo's Hardwoods in Tiverton, R.I., the original supplier for the
teak in Cape Dories and many other area boat manufacturers. It's not cheap, but reasonable. - Jean

One other idea would be to put something else in to cover the holes, such as speakers for a stereo. Not a specific recommendation but to encourage being creative.
