CD28 vs CD30 rudder question

Post by Benlieb »

Can anyone happen to tell me if the rudders on these two models are identical?

Pretty certain they are different.

Foss Foam in Florida can give a definitive answer...

I have not had both boats side by side on the hard (CD 28 and CD 30B) but I don't believe they are the same based upon working on and bottom painting each. They are very similar but most CD 28s are tiller and I believe many CD 30s are wheel. I would not count on them being identical. I can confirm this fall when both are on the hard with measurements but don't have my SCUBA stuff available and can no longer hold my breath long enough to take accurate measurements.

Found photos of each of the rudders. They sure look awful close to being the same shape but close doesn't mean they would fit. I can measure in the fall.
