Swim Ladder

Post by Dick Kobayashi »

This is a kind of generic question - I finally have had to replace my swim ladder. I got an exact duplicate from Defender. My old ladder clipped into slots on the deck by virtue of screws set into the end of the ladder handles. They were screwed into some kind of compound that had been inserted into the ends after removing the end caps. Any one have any idea of what to use/how to proceed. The system made the ladder quite stable.

Actually solved this by inserting a section of 7/8th dowl into the end and then inserting screws into the dowl ends.

How true, Michael. How true.

Knowing where Dick's sailing waters are, perhaps I should have said "YANKEE" ingenuity. Yuk yuk.
Maybe something akin to Panhandle ingenuity

Please give some details re the "slots in the deck" that the screws hooked into - were they cut into the gelcoat, or what?
