Aqua Signal MS 25 Combination Steaming/Foredeck Light

Post by gates_cliff »

I purchased and installed the Aquasignal MS25 steaming/foredeck light. Unfortunately, for me, I went ahead and installed it. First, there is no lens on the bottom or foredeck light which seems like it won't last since it's inevitably going to get wet. The bigger problem is that it doesn't fit tight to the mast, there's a gap which will let water enter behind it. I called Aquasignal and they agreed that that could be a problem. the guy I talked to said that I must have a skinny mast! I'm going to remove and try to return to west marine, and try to figure something else out. Was replacing the old light because the bottom lens was clouded.

First photo is old steaming light and foredeck light.

They seem to have a half-life of three years.

Have not used this, but like it.

None of the whingding lights actually "fit" any mast. I avoid looking up to minimize angst.

Main Sail has probably fixed more of these than all of us combined. R?

Cliff,

If you still have your old light, you can replace the two fixtures or just the lenses. They are Perko lights and replacement lenses are available if you search for them online.

This thread will have all the model numbers and information that you need if you want to go back to your original setup.
