tach and temp gauge both stopped working at the same time...

Is this a coincidence? The panel and engine are original MD7A from 1982.
Does anyone have suggestions for trouble shooting?

Thanks!

I don't own an MD7A but...

The two instruments probably share a common connection on the panel to the negative side of the battery. There is probably some sort of connector for the instrument panel. I would look closely at the connector.
