I took Christine C for her last sail of 2015 on Friday. I just got a new staysail and really gave it the first real sail; 20-25kts with gusts to 28 and lulls to 15. I had the first reef in the main. She handled beautifully. We sailed for about 5 hours, out of Beverly to Halfway Rock, over to Manchester then into Salem. It was a bit wet (so I didn't get pictures) but she handled the weather beautifully. Never more than about 15 degrees of heel. Most of the time I steered her with the tiller brake, perfectly balanced. All in all, a good way to close out the season.

Sailing involves the courage to cherish adventure and the wisdom to fear danger. Knowing where one ends, and the other begins, makes all the difference.
Re: Christine C Last Sail 2015
I had my last sail of the year on MOON DANCE on Sunday with almost identical condition as you Jeff. Also had a single reef in the main and just the staysail. On a beam reach doing 7 plus over the ground. It was how ever 45 deg brrr so I was bundled up but that didn't bother me a bit on a glorious sunny Sunday afternoon in October. She's on a mooring at the town dock in Cotuit where they will pull the stick early Friday morning and then I'll motor up the river to Prince Cove to haul out. Biter sweet! What projects will I complete this winter??? Hmmmm
