Has anyone done the Down East circle via the Erie Canal and also via Lake Champlain (two alternate routes up to the St. Lawrence)?
We're planning this trip for next year and are not sure which route to take from the upper Hudson River up to the St. Lawrence. We plan to do the trip over two summers, storing the boat for the winter somewhere on Lake Champlain on in the 1000 islands, then finishing the cruise in 2017.
All thoughts very appreciated.
