For those of us who like me ignored for too long cleaning the tiny vented loop valve (suction breaker) in the discharge hose of the holding tank, DON'T! Include this in your every-3-months TO DO list! My holding tank started filling up with sea water! At first I did not know where it was coming from, and by trial and error, discovered the problem. I thought it came from the toilet pump, since we do pull in water for flushing. That wasn't it, but it took me several tests (and days) to find out that it was indeed not coming from there. I did learn all about seacocks in the process. So it was backing up from the holding tank discharge hose! I do have a macerator pump which leads all the waste out through the discharge hose. The tiny suction breaker on the vented loup was clogged! I had never cleaned it! (2 years I have the boat). Today, finally, after more than a week of opening and closing valves, I am sure I fixed the problem. Bandolera has both breakers very clean and working properly, the intake one in the head, and the out-take one on the discharge hose of the holding tank. It was a very scary experience, I must say.
