Knotmeter bung painted in place

Post by Jim Walsh »

Have you ever painted your (boats) bottom with your knotmeter transducer bung in place and forgotten to ensure is was free so you'd be able to remove it and slip your transducer in place after you've been launched? Well I have. Normally a little twist and you're good to go. Not this year! I applied as much force as I dared with a crescent wrench and then had an epiphany. As you can see in the picture the bung has two 1/4 inch holes which have a purpose in the transducer but are dead ends in the bung. The Spartan deck plate key is a perfect fit and worked like a charm.
