Magic Tilt Trailers

Post by Roger Rosenwald »

Does anyone have any experience or know someone who has experience using a Magic Tilt trailer? I looking to buy a trailer for my CD Typhoon. One of their dealers quoted me a price of $688 new. Apparently the boat sits on bunks rather than rollers on the trailer. Thanks for any advice.

Roger:
That price sounds great. My Typhoon sits on bunks and it appears to work fairly well. I would rather have three individual pads on each side but I would rather have bunks than rollers. On mine, because of the shape of the keel, the boat tends to rock fore and aft or at least not sit squarely on its keel. There are so many people looking to buy Typhoons but needing trailers, that a $688 trailer that is road worthy would be very appealing.

Hi Roger
We had a Magic Tilt trailer for our last boat, a Compac 16. It had the bunks as you describe. We never actually used the "tilt" feature. We just backed the trailer in and floated the boat off. Retrieval was the reverse. No Problems. Sounds like a great price.
Cheers
Jim
