Years ago I cut out a story and photos of a CD 40 w/twin engines.
As a former CD28FB owner I wonder if that vessel was unique or if there was any kind of a production run.
Does anyone have further info?
Thanks, Ross Watson

Re: CD40/power
Here is my recollection, based on some conversations I had back around 1993. Cape Dory went out of business around 1991. At that time, my impression is that they had hull #1 done and took it to a boat show. When they went under, the name and many of the molds were bought by an outfit on Long Island. They claimed to have delivered at least four boats, most in the Northeast but one in Puget Sound. However I do not know if that information is reliable.Years ago I cut out a story and photos of a CD 40 w/twin engines.

The Amityville company went out of business itself in 1996.
For more info on Cape Dorys click "About Cape Dorys" on the navigation bar at the top of our web pages.
Hope that helps.
