Shorepower 50 Amp Question

Post by woodisgood »

I keep my boat in a wet slip and have access to 50 Amp service. Until recently I haven't even desired to hook into it. However, after hauling a couple of batteries back and forth and with needed maintenance coming up I will need power. Does anyone have an inexpensive way to convert 50 Amp power to usable 110v? I can find a converter from 50 to 30 and anther from 30 to 110. This will cost about $300. Looking for a less expensive and safe option.

50 amp

I carry a 50 amp pigtail for those times when only 50 amp service is available and then plug into the ac receptacle on the boat for use of power tools etc.
