Replacing the Portlight gasket on the glass

Post by Shipscarver »

Does anyone know the actual gasketing number for the roll material from McMasters to replace the gasketing on my portlight glass (CD27)?
I ordered once before but ended up with huge stuff I might use around the cockpit lockets. :-)

Gasket material

Post by Watermark II »

We redid all the ports on Watermark last summer.
We used material from McMaster-Carr.

Item# 8605K44 - Weather Resistant EPDM Foam Cord, 1/2" Dia., 100' Length. $39.99

We did all 10 ports in about 2hours.

McMaster-Carr p/n "8605K44" should do the trick.

portlight gasket replacement

Post by Shipscarver »

The glass looks to be 14 1/2 X 6 on my CD27. Now, If I could remember my high school math from 50 years ago . . .
I have 6 ports. But, I think we are talking about two different things. I need the gasket that goes over the inside of the bronze port frame, that the outside of the glass presses against.
