Rocna or Manson Supreme Anchors

Post by Joe CD MS 300 »

These relatively new designs have been out for a few years now. Has anyone tried these anchors and have any reports. I'm toying with going with the Rocna. It does great in all the tests I have read and just from a common sence or intuitive stand point the design would seem to work better than a plough style.

All the cruisers I have met with these designs are extreamly pleased. While slightly older, but still worth inclusion in this group, is the Spade anchor as well.

Personally of the bunch I would not buy a Rocna based mainly on their marketing guys obnoxious online marketing tactics (dont be suprised if he shows up here now that you have mentioned his anchcor).

You will find a ton of heated debate about these anchors on the SSCA discussion board, though anchor debates tend to go badly and give no real answers.

Go Manson....

When faced with the Rocna v.s. Manson choice, what tipped me towards the Manson was, having to muddle through all of Craigs marketing B.S and spam. I found it fairly offensive how he shamelessly dominates the discussion in several public forums. I would say it pretty much constitutes viral marketing. However, in his defense Alain (of spade) is even worse. The Manson has performed Just as well in every test it's been part of.
Another one to consider is the Bulwagga, in fact I was able to locate more positive feedback on the Bullwagga from actual owners of the anchors (as opposed to owners of the company...) than any other anchor at the time.
