I'm planning to be at the show, but I have not yet decided which day. Since Lynne's chorus is having a concert on Saturday night, I'll probably have to come up on Friday or Sunday.

A show not to be missed. A great way to see the craftsmanship of Maine boat builders and to psychologically move from winter to spring.. It starts the motion of the new boat season.
It is typically great to not only see wonderful craftsmanship but to see design that doesn't look like a bath tub toy.
If you can make it, make it, Phineas Sprague has the boat yard for sale and it is the old industrial rail road buildings themselves that adds such color to the entire show.

That's a good question, Joe, Would the new condo owners approve? There was some reporting of him creating some covenants for boat use but I don't think that it preserves the old buildings. I am not familiar with the zoning in Portland or what is allowed there. But, it would certainly be different. Wouldn't it be great if someone bought the property and repaired the buildings. It will probably be a hotel and a couple of high end fast food restaurants perhaps an Old Navy would be appropriate.

I'll be at the show on Saturday. I'll arrive around 1:00. If anyone else is planning on being there around that same time, it would be great to see some Cape Dory friends. Wear some of our great chandlery Cape Dory Stuff so we can find each other.

Edit: Clay, I'll also get to the Robinhood booth around 2:00.

My cousin and I will be there on Saturday also. This is one of my favorite shows, just to hang around and look at the beautiful stuff and see old friends in the city I grew up in. I am also aware that the facility is listed for sale and unfortunately will probably someday end up waterfront condos or a hotel....the property is just too valuable to continue to be what it currently is. Those who know Phin Sprague know why it has lasted as it is for so long.

Anyone who wants to meet please feel free to call on my cell phone....603-209-3535 and I will try to be at the Robinhood Marine table around 2:00. Also, be aware that cell phone reception can be poor inside the building there, so last year some of the calls ended up in voice mail instead of going through

The company there is good, the boats are beautiful, and the beer is ice cold....what could be better!!

Well, much as I enjoy going on Saturday and meeting the other Cape Dorians, I'm clearly under an obligation to go to Lynne's concert, so I'll either be there on Friday or Sunday.

It's a shame, because there's always a nice group of Cape Dory folks there.

and will be there when the doors open. Will most likely linger through a good part of the afternoon. Since I have not met many member face-to-face, I suggest going to the Robinhood booth on each hour (+/- 5mins) and greet visitors. I do not have any CDSOA garb so I'll be wearing my Volvo Ocean Race hat.

I live only a short drive south of the Portland and visit the area most weekends. There is a great shore walk and during the summer the bay always has some beautiful sailboats.

I'll be looking for you all.

The show was it's usual fun time with beautiful works of art all around. Sorry I missed the Robinhood booth at 2:00....was tied up. Did stop by a couple of times to talk with Dave Perry and see if other CDers had been around. Sorry about your flu, Carl, hope it's a short one.
