Hi Marilou:
I did a "Singer 20U" search on Google and got a lot of useful hits. It's a industrial straight stitch and zizag machine. It doesn't have a walking foot. If you can get one in the $250 range, it say go for it. If you're in the $500 and up range, think about a walking foot Sailrite.

Now I am looking for sewing lessons
I will have to slow this machine down - going about 2500 per min. and I am about at a 6.
