Onset Rendezvous

First the bad news - I have just received notification from The Point Independence Yacht Club that they have been forced to modify their dock layout for the upcoming season. The new dock configuration will reduce the number of transient slips they can offer for the CD Owners Rendezvous. I have already received reservation requests for 8 slips which they will "TRY" and accommodate although no guarantees will be made. Any additional requests for slips will need to be evaluated on an individual need basis.

I guess some minor problems are to be expected and if this is the extend of the issues then I should be
happy.

Now the good news - PIYC will have additional moorings available if we should need them. I have received confirmation and food/mooring deposits for 18 boats with several more expected. The PIYC anticipates having a club dinner on Friday July 16, 1999. They have extended an invitation for any early CD arrivals to join them if the dinner takes place. I will provide dinner details and charges as they are made available.

FYI - I shall be cruising from Charleston SC to New York on 4/30 - 5/9. The "First Mate" has indicated that the use of laptops or checking voice mail will not be allowed during the cruise. Please feel free to leave a message and I will reply once we have landed.

For those of you like myself, where the distance is too great by Cape Dory, but not too far by car or plane... I suggest you contact the Inn at Onset and speak to Christy Logan. I plan on sailing from Groton, CT the weekend before the rendezvous, mooring and driving up the following weekend. Just started new job, so had to modify the sail up - weekend - sail home in 6 days plan. Please consider youself as invited to sail with us on the 'Heather Ann'.
