Need Transporter Name Immediately for CD27

Post by A. Andrus »

I need to transport a CD27 from Virginia to Seattle. My original transporter arrangement backed out. Please provide names of transporters I can contact. The boat is out of the water and prepared for shipment. I need to have the boat here before 15 April. Thanks.

I had contacted Joule Yacht Transport in Clearwater, Florida a couple of years ago to move my CD27 from Maryland to St. Pete Beach, Florida because I had seen their trucks on the road and I was impressed with their handling the vehicles with boats on board around the suicidal Washington, DC Beltway and on I-95/I-75 between Maryland and Florida.

I don't have their phone number immediately accessible here, but the man's name was Ells. They are in the 727 area code.

This past week I saw some, I believe Seattle-based trucks on I-95 from a place called Marine Express. They seemed to be doing all right too, but didn't take any numbers, if they were on there.

Hope this is some help!

I moved my CD27 from Texas to California a year ago. I used Barbour Trucking Company (800)756-2510, contact is Mark Fraser. They weren't the lowest quote I got, but the driver did show up within 24 hours of when they said he would which is pretty good for this industry. My driver's name was Owen (don't know last name) and he took a lot of time to load boat properly. She arrived in CA with a little road grime but otherwise without a scratch.

They are a transport brokerage outfit who will get quotes and recommend a firm to do the moving. I took the lowest quote and had no trouble. The transport vehicle was a smaller truck than I expected but all went well. My boat weighs about 7 tons and is 31 feet.
