The June/July issue of Maine Boats and Harbors magazine has a nice article about the Robinhood 36, and Robinhood Marine Center in general ("Ideal Yard for an Ideal Boat," page 32). As most of you probably know, the Robinhood 36 is based on the Cape Dory 36, but with a number of improvements & upgrades.
In addition to a good discussion and a number of pictures of the Robinhood 36, the article also talks about how when Cape Dory Yachts failed in the late 1980's, Andy Vavolotis moved to Maine, bought RMC, and began producing the R36's (and soon the first R40).
Maine Boats and Harbors has a web site at http://w ... eboats/
Unfortunately, they don't seem to publish articles from back issues on the site. It is a great magazine to subscribe to though, for those interested in cruising the Maine coast. (I have no connection to the magazine, other than as a subscriber.)
