I want to install an inner forestay on my CD 27 in order to rig a more efficient storm jib. Have concerns about supporting under deck, and need for running backstays (if inner stay runs parallel to forestay). Have heard that running stay from near masthead rather than parallel would prevent mast from "pumping" in severe wind conditions. Would prefer to run it parallel if running back stays are unnecessary and mast pumping is not a problem. My boat has a 130% roller furling genao on the optional bowsprit which is supported by a bobstay from underneath. I am considering anchoring the inner stay to the bobstay fitting from inside the chain locker. Would appreciate comments from anyone who has tried this
