I believe that Cape Dory started out in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, not Taunton, as is stated in the history. I used to live near there and visited the "factory" in West Bridgewater. In fact, it may be that the first CD 10 came out of the Vavolitis' gargage in Randolph, but I am not certain.

The authorized Cape Dory biography
Andy V. started CD in 1968 in his garage in Brockton, MA. He used a $1500 home improvement loan to outfit himself with power tools from Sears. The first boats produced were 15 foot glass over plywood hard chine dinghies. He then moved on to 10 and 18 foot soft chine dinghies.Ken Coit wrote: I believe that Cape Dory started out in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, not Taunton, as is stated in the history.
