Formula 27- Quick Question

I'm doing a lot of hull and deck repairs with Formula 27 filling compound, which a guy at the marine store recommended. I'm wondering, though, is it waterproof? Or do I need to seal it with gelcoat resin? I loathe gelcoat resin, and would like to paint directly on the filling compound if possible.

Hi.... formula 27 is just a fuller, all of then must be primed and painted as well or use gelcoat repair kit, you must use one or the other over it......winthrop
