Boatlife makes a solvent for removing its sealant and caulk products, which I have found works well on Cetol spills. Also, acetone works well, but you have to be careful not to dull the gelcoat.JERRY wrote: DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGESTIONS FOR REMOVING "CETOL" WOOD FINISH STAINS FROM GELCOAT DECKS? After putting on Cetol, even just touching up scratches
with the utmost care and certain I split nothing (this time),
I will the next day come across little drops of the stuff
on the gel-coat. The way I remove them is as follows.
I take a tea-spoon - probably aluminum, and holding it upside
down scrape gently at the drop of dry brittle paint. The curved
surface of the spoon avoids digging into the surface of the gel-coat.
Follow this right away with fibreglass restorer and cleanser
so you don't have an aluminum stain to remove!
