...and one crew overboard...

The worst part is that the crewman that was at the entrance to the pilothouse was thrown overboard!

A lesson for us all

Post by Carter Brey »

As the video shows, ladies and gentlemen, it's vitally important to match your ground tackle to the bottom over which you anticipate anchoring. A very large Danforth would have had a better chance of piercing the deck of the obstructing vessel for a good hold.

Obstructing vessel as a mooring block?

Post by Serge Zimberoff »

Maybe they thought the anchor would lodge in the obstructing vessel which would conveniently sink immediately and act as a very large mooring block?

HEY, you scratched my anchor.

(I know... Not an original line, but it seemed applicable :D )
