Where do Typhoon owners store a gas tank?
I have a '72 Typhoon with a 4hp Johnson and separate 3 gal. gas tank. The previous owner stored the tank in a cockpit locker, with the pipe exiting via the small round access hole on the aft cockpit bulkhead. Although I have no electrics or other likely cause of ignition, I am concerned about the safety of this set up.
I am thinking about making a sealed lazarette locker, venting into the cockpit. Has anybody tried this? Any other suggestions for safe gas stowage?
